My Friend

I first met Larry when we were couriers for Champion transfer. It was no time at all that we became great friends. He became one of my best friends. We would radio each other every day and meet when we could. Sometimes at the end of a day we would meet for a beer and some wings or nachos, or occasionally a Bombay Sapphire gin martini. Larry would get amused at my philosophical ramblings. Some conversations got rather heated and involved, but always good natured. Lots of smiles and laughter, just two friends solving the world's problems. I met my wife at one of the regular delivery stops on our job and so, Larry knew her too. It made an easy transition for us all to be friends. My wife, Rhoni and I have had many wonderful times with Larry and Judy... and of course, Murphy. Unfortunately, my pictures of some of those times are unavailable for now because of a computer issue. After Larry retired from driving, we didn't get a chance to see each other as often, but we talked nearly everyday. I finally quit driving too and that quickly changed the routine and we stopped talking each day. I regret that now. I miss my friend! I wish I could call him up at any given moment. I wish I could meet him at a local dive bar or diner which he loved so much, and talk. I'm so glad we had those times. And I'm so glad he had more time... To spend with his wife Judy... Murphy... Matt and Brianna and Daphne... Angela and Anthony... Trey and Anthony. I'm so glad he had time to go to Italy and Scotland. I'm grateful he brought me back the mementos from the Isle of Lewis and a bottle of single malt scotch. I'm glad he and Judy saw plays and musicals and went to the Shakespeare festival in Ashland. Glad they went to ball games. And I'll miss your food Larry! I miss you my friend! So very, very much!!! Thank you for our friendship.
