Condolence From: Cris Shardelman
Condolence: John always spoke so lovingly and proudly of his family, and of Our Lord Jesus Christ. His life reminds me of Paul expressed in Ph. 2:21-30. It was needful for John to make life the best possible for his family and others, yet he longed to see Jesus face to face. The last time I visited John in his office, even with his illness, his greatest concern was leaving their home in great condition for his wife. Untold numbers of us will never forget his gracious help and direction. I want to thank you, his family, for your support and sacrifices while he fulfilled so well the role God had for him. My deepest sympathy for your loss. Mrs. Cris Shardelman

Condolence: John loved the Word of God, and loved to pray with people and shared the Gospel. He was a comfort to me when I went to work in the Legislature. It was a new job in a new place with unique norms and customs. He showed me great kindness and grace. He was trusted by all his colleagues. I appreciated his humility, wisdom, and good humor. I respected his enduring love of this country and its founding ideals. He is missed very much.

Condolence: John was a gift to all who knew him. First and foremost, John was a godly man. I always appreciated that he would find time in his busy day to share his knowledge and wisdom that was guided by God's Word. I loved how he loved and cherished his wife. He was so proud of his children and adored the grandchildren. How he would beam when sharing about his family! John was tenacious about writing legislation to reflect the spirit and intent of the foundational principles of this country. He was always true to his faith, family and friends. I shall fondly remember the discussions we had about life and legislation. John, your life on earth was such a testimony for us...thank you for the memories!
