Obituary for Robert F Ewing

Robert F Ewing
Ewing, Robert F.
Born: February 20, 1957

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert F. Ewing announces his sudden death following a motorcycle accident in Tacoma, Washington, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the age of 60 years. Robert will be forever remembered by his loving children; Anna and Jacob Ewing, (Katlyn Victoria Duell), 1st grandchild Willa Mae Ewing, by his loving sisters and brother; Judy Morris, Dorie Ewing, Michel Jensen, Joe Ewing, nieces and nephews; Andy Ewing, Sarah Munar, Cody Morris, Ryan McClure, Molly McClure, Calder McClure. Robert (Bob) will also be remembered by many dear friends.

Robert F. Ewing was born February 20, 1957 in San Francisco, CA. to the parents of Joseph J. Ewing and Margaret (Peggy) V. Ewing. The family then moved to Oregon and finally settled in Seattle, WA when Robert was 10 years old. In his 20’s, he moved to New York and then back to Seattle with his siblings to take care of their ailing mother.

Robert, a Vietnam veteran in the Air force, was a man of many skills but settled in the industry of construction and carpentry where he did onsite labor, management and contract work. In the early 2000’s, after mostly retiring from the carpentry field, he worked at the Pike Market Senior Center, a job he absolutely loved. After having studied math for many years at the University of Washington, he was dedicated to managing the senior center’s budget so they could effectively and efficiently allocate resources to the people who needed them most.

Robert was also an accomplished mountain climber, and skier, he belonged to the Mountaineers in Seattle. His children cherish the memories of him teaching them how to ski and their family trips to the mountains. Another passion was his love for cars and motorcycles, he always had a project going to fix up an old junk car with parts from another. Robert was also known for his excellent pool playing skills, a member of many teams and leagues.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Anna Ewing at paypal.me/forrobertewing to help pay for funeral costs.
