Evelyn was born in Kennedy, MN. to Fred and Mary Froemke on Aug. 23 1918. Her life’s journey ended on May 19th, 2017 at the age of 98. She grew up and attended school in Greenbush, MN. She met her future husband Earl Helley while living and working in Seattle. They were married in Tacoma, WA. on Mar. 29th, 1943. After Earl’s tour with the Navy, they returned to Minnesota for several years started their family, but moved back to Washington and eventually settled in Enumclaw. Evelyn was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as Sunday school teacher, Choir member, on Alter Guild, Mary Martha Circle, Ladies quilting group and many others. She enjoyed oil and tole painting, crocheting, quilting, and any craft project imagined. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Earl, Brother Ferdie Froemke, her twin sisters Ruth Rantanen and Ruby Maijala. She is survived by her big brother Virgil Froemke, her children Greta (Lochiel) Rinerson, Norman (Laurie) Helley, and Maureen Shay, Nine grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and three Great-Great Grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 20th, 2017 at 1:00pm at
Trinity Lutheran Church, 1535 Washington Ave.; Enumclaw, WA. 98022
