Obituary for Bobby (Bob) Torres

Bobby (Bob) Torres
Bob Torres was born on May 28th 1943 to Fred & Gertrudes Torres in the town of Salida, Colorado. Bob passed away after a short bout with cancer on the morning of April 30th 2016 while surrounded by his loving family. Bob was always an early riser and went peacefully home to the lord around 4:00AM.
During his earlier life he grew up in Salt Lake City and attended West High school. He went on to join the U.S. Marines. Although his stay was short his country was proud to have him. Bob married his sweetheart, the beautiful-Mildred (Millie) Elulia. They were both so young.
Bob went on to do many things but settled in as a sheet metal worker for the shipyards in LongBeach, CA. Eventually he move his young family to the Tacoma, WA for a better quality of life and worked in the Bremerton shipyards. His career was shortened by injuries sustained in the Marines and while at work. Bob then found his place in supporting his young family in many ways while recently celebrating his 55th wedding anniversary.
Bob is survived by many loving family members; his sisters-Corrine & Mary, his wife-Mildred, Daughters-Bernadette & her husband Aaron, Marnie & her husband Sergio Sr., Sons-Troy Sr. & his wife Sonja, Bobby & his wife Connie, Grandkids-Charla, Sergio Jr., Mireya, Kayla, Nicholas, Sophia, and Troy Jr.-(who passed away too soon). One great grandchild-the lovely Kiley.
Graveside service & remembrance for Bob will be held on Friday May 13th at 11:00AM at Calvary Cemetery located at 5212 70th street W. in Tacoma. Following the service will be a potluck gathering at the family residence, near the cemetery.
Bob was a kind, gentle and passionate husband, father & friend. We will miss his presence!
